Halloween Pumpkin Cupcakes

I spent my Sunday afternoon baking cupcakes for my favorite holiday, and it made me so happy. Baking is like my therapy, the perfect escape from reality for a few hours. Since Halloween is almost here, and since it’s Autumn, I thought I would make pumpkin cupcakes. I also decorated them with some cute Halloween theme decorations. They are so good!

I tweaked it a little, but I got the recipe from here, follow this link if you want to make these delicious cupcakes!

I have never baked anything with pumpkin in it, so I was interested to see how it would taste. These are some of the decorations I put aside for later.

The items in my kitchen just happened to perfectly match the theme of the day.

Once I had mixed all the ingredients it looked, smelled, and tasted so delicious already!

They were ready to go in the oven looking amazing… Also they made the house smell like Fall. Yum.

This is how they looked after baking. My only complaint is that they didn’t rise that much, but they were in higher cupcake cups than the usual ones, so it wasn’t too bad.

Time to decorate! The “too low” problem was easily fixable once I started adding frosting. To make the frosting look prettier I whipped it and then put it in a plastic bag. Once it’s in there, you can just cut one corner and it squeezes out perfectly.

I made some with faces made out of candy!

These ones I decorated with the sprinkles I bought.

I love how they turned out! They also tasted delicious, and I have 5 other people that can attest to that. 🙂

The cupcake holders I used are from Mary & Martha, a direct sales company. My mom sells these items, and the bakeware is so cute. I used the line for my graduation party! If you’re interested, you can order them here:

Red Lips (And Why They’re So Cool)

I’m a big supporter of wearing lipstick. I hate that when I’m reading magazines, the reports are always, “NEWS FLASH: Men don’t like bright lipstick!” Who cares what men like?! I don’t dress for anyone but myself. Here are some awesome pictures to show how you can pull off wearing red lipstick.

Honestly, red lipstick looks so classic, and it turns up the volume on any outfit.

All different ways, all fabulous. Make sure that when you are wearing red lipstick, you keep the rest of your makeup mostly natural. You wouldn’t want to end up looking like a clown. Especially when you have full lips, like me. Also, I found this awesome tutorial for putting on red lipstick on Rookiemag.

Remember, fashion is fun!

Studded Collars

Lately I keep buying collared shirts, and I always feel the need to wear my hair up while wearing them, because my hair is super long and it just makes me look frumpy. But then I saw this trend that a lot of people are doing, where they put studs on the collar of their shirts. It looks so good with your hair up or down! It really gives a little something to the shirt, and you don’t even need to wear jewelry, because it is a statement on its own. Here are a bunch of different ways to wear it, for any style.

I also found this DIY on Rookiemag. They aren’t studded, but they are other fun ways to wear collars.

p.s. sorry I haven’t been posting regularly! I promise to try harder!

Inspiration Book

I’ve been reading a lot of fashion blogs lately, (a little too much) and I love Tavi Gevinson. She makes these cool little books which I love, and I decided to make my own. I’m going to start making a bunch, and this is my first one. They are little books I can go to when I need inspiration or fashion ideas. Yes, I made them, but it’s nice to go back and see what I was thinking, or what mood I was in when I made it.

Those are only a few of the pages, but you get the idea. Try making your own! They are so fun.
